Air Seychelles’ Mahé to Beijing
The first passengers on Air Seychelles’ weekly service from Beijing to Mahé look happy to be arriving in the sunny Seychelles. The route will be served by the carrier’s single A330.
At Beijing Airport the first flight with Air Seychelles to Mahé was celebrated in style with flowers, banners and a cake-cutting ceremony. Airline CEO Roy Kinnear was on hand to join in the celebrations.
Air Seychelles, which is an Etihad Airways Partner, launched a new weekly service on 2 February using its single 254-seat A330 between Mahé (SEZ) and Beijing (PEK). Flights on the 7,950-kilometre route depart the Seychelles at 10:40 on Tuesdays, arriving in China at 01:30 the following morning. Return flights depart Beijing at 02:50 on Wednesday mornings, returning to Mahé at 09:20 the same day. Joël Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport and Chairman of Air Seychelles, said: “The introduction of scheduled non-stop flights between Seychelles and Beijing is a tremendously proud moment in the history of Air Seychelles, demonstrating the impressive growth of our national airline over the past four years.
